Hanson Brick names two senior executives for commercial sales

March 14, 2006
Hanson Brick, North America’s largest brick manufacturer, has placed two business and industry veterans at top leadership positions in its commercial sales area. Charlie Ward has been named executive vice president for commercial sales and Cliff Taylor has been promoted to vice president of sales for the east region.

“We are pleased to announce Charlie Ward and Cliff Taylor as additions to our commercial sales leadership team at Hanson Brick,” said Mike Donahue, president of Hanson Brick & Roof Tile. “This move reflects Hanson’s commitment to customer, and we are confident that Charlie and Cliff will continue in Hanson’s mission to provide sales and service that is unequaled in our marketplace.”

Charlie Ward joined Hanson Brick & Roof Tile in 2002, serving first as commercial controller for the east region and most recently as chief financial officer for the company. Ward’s past experiences include president of a specialty equipment manufacturer and successful owner of his own business, and, in his new position with Hanson Brick, Ward will oversee sales, customer service, inventory, transportation and business process development. According to Donahue, Ward has been an integral member of Hanson’s senior management team.

“Charlie has been a corporate leader for Hanson for many years, and we are pleased to see those leadership skills at work for our customers’ benefit,” said Donahue. “Charlie has the ideal combination of strategic planning skills and passion for business that will assure Hanson has effective and comprehensive sales and support services.”

Taylor has been promoted from region sales manager to his new post as vice president of sales for the east region, where he will draw on two decades of experience in the brick industry to lead Hanson’s regional sales efforts. Taylor, who has worked for both brick distributors and manufacturers during his career, has held management positions in sales, customer service, transportation, product development and production planning.

“Cliff has an incredible depth of experience in our industry and strong leadership skills that will be invaluable in serving our customers needs,” said Donahue.
