In an effort to reduce on site construction waste and the resulting burial in landfills, Hanson Brick is pleased to accept clean brick waste for recycling. Brick waste will be crushed and repurposed as aggregate material used in green roof and other landscape applications. In an effort to reduce on site construction waste and the resulting burial in landfills, Hanson Brick is pleased to accept clean brick waste at our La Prairie, Quebec facility. Brick waste will be crushed and recycled for use in the manufacture of new brick.

Here’s how it works:
There is no fee for this program! However, the following conditions must be met to ensure your shipment of brick waste can be accepted.

Conditions:

  • Clean brick waste will be accepted by dump truck or on pallets via flat bed truck.
  • (Ontario) Please provide at least 24 hours notice prior to return of brick waste by notifying Hanson Brick Customer Service at 800 263 6229, extension 5. At that time, you will be provided the shipping address of the appropriate recycling facility.
  • (Quebec) Please provide at least 24 hours notice prior to return of brick waste by notifying Hanson Brick at 514 866 8374, extension 229.
  • Delivery must coincide with our delivery hours, which can be confirmed during notification.
  • Returned material must consist of clean brick waste only. Any delivery containing other construction waste such as CMUs, wood, glass, steel or garbage will be rejected and returned to the job site at the customer’s expense.
  • Different colours of waste brick must not be mixed on pallets or in the truck. Mixed colours of brick waste will be rejected and returned to the job site at the customer’s expense.
  • Palletized waste brick must be stacked no higher than 750 mm (30 in), and be loaded on stable pallets. Pallets should be secured on all sides (i.e. stretch wrapped or using cardboard sheets and banded) and not exceed 500 kg (1100 Ibs) total weight.
  • Demolition brick will also be accepted under the same conditions listed above. (Ontario Only)
