Brick Back Program — Canada
In an effort to reduce on site construction waste and resulting burial in landfills, Hanson Brick is offering the Brick Back Program to accept clean brick waste at our source manufacturing locations. The brick waste will be converted into a ground recyclable material that will be added to our existing products.
Bonus!
The Hanson Brick Back Program can also help contribute to LEED® credits under MR credit 2.1 and
2.2 - Construction Waste Management.
Here’s how it works:
There is no fee for this program!
Hanson Brick will accept delivered “clean” brick waste at the source location of the manufactured brick. For example, brick manufactured at our Columbia, SC, facility will be accepted back at that location.
Conditions:
- Clean brick waste will be accepted at our facility by dump truck or on pallets via flat bed truck.
- Please provide at least seven (7) days notice prior to return of brick waste by notifying Hanson Brick Customer Service at 877 HANSON8 or 866 259 6263. You will then be contacted by the source brick plant to coordinate and prepare for delivery.
- Delivery must coincide with our delivery hours, which can be confirmed during notification.
- Returned material must consist of clean brick waste only. Any delivery containing other construction waste such as CMUs, wood, glass, steel or garbage will be rejected and returned to the job site at customer’s expense.
- Different colors of waste brick must not be co-mingled on pallets or in the truck. Co-mingled colors of brick waste will be rejected and returned to the job site at customer’s expense
- Palletized waste brick must be stacked no higher than 30”, and be loaded on stable pallets. Slatted pallets must have a “floor” cover of felt, plywood, etc. to block any pieces of waste brick from falling through. They should be secured on all sides (i.e.: stretch wrapped or by cardboard sheets and banded) and not exceed 1500 Ibs. total weight
